Marc on Marc: My Interview with Director Marc Webb
I mentioned earlier this week the great thrill I had to meet and sit down with 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb in NYC. Below is the discussion we had about 500DAYS.com and 500 Days of Summer. We chatted quite a bit before really getting into the interview (Marc’s an easy guy to talk to) so we sort of got cut short on time. Still, I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed making it.

Myself and Marc Webb
Happy 500 Days of Summer Release Week!
It’s only Tuesday and already this week has been crazy for me. I just got home from NYC where I had an amazing time interviewing the incredibly down to earth director Marc Webb. If you were following my twitter you’d know my flight got delayed three hours and I missed the entire screening on Monday night(!)… however I just made it on time for the Wall Street Journal discussion that followed the screening with Webb and screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber. Zooey Deschanel, who was supposed to be there as well, had to cancel last minute but said hello to the audience via prerecorded video. The creators of 500 Days of Summer are hilarious, modest guys and I am so excited for them for the release of the film this Friday.
500 Days of Summer goodness that has popped up over the past couple days:
• Video: Film clip from 500 Days of Summer, Day (1) of (500), from Inside Searchlight
• Article: Director Marc Webb Grilled (The Wrap). Great quote: “no one will claim to be a hipster, and if they do, you should punch them in the face.”
• Article: Gordon-Levitt moves on to romantic comedy (SFGate)
• Article: 500 Days Of Summer Scribes Tell Us Why ‘This Is Not A Love Story’ (Latino Review). Interview with Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber.
I hope to get my interview with Marc Webb up asap. For now, here’s a photo of me and the man. Thanks again, Marc, I had such a blast and it was great to talk to you.

Summer Scoops in NYC and an interview with Marc Webb
The Summer Scoops festival in NYC is featuring a screening of 500 Days of Summer tonight and yours truly will be in attendance—that is, if I’m able to get there on time. I’m flying into LaGuardia but the plane is over an hour late.
Whatever happens I’m even more excited for my interview tomorrow afternoon with director Marc Webb. Everything was organizaed at the last minute but i think it’s all going to come together. As a fan I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to interview someone responsible for such an amazing film. I’m looking for questions from the fans though so take advantage of me! Tweet me your questions @500daysofsummer or post a comment below!
Hope this turns out alright—first post from my phone. Also hope to meet some of u guys tonight!

July 11th, 2009Casting (500) Days of Summer by Marc Webb
Some interesting tidbits in this casual interview with director Marc Webb, including the fact it was Joe Gordon-Levitt who suggested Zooey Deschanel as a must to play Summer Finn.
July 9th, 2009Three New Photos of 500 Days of Summer
Here are three beautiful, new photos just released by Fox Searchlight.
The second one is my favorite! What’s yours?

Marc Webb’s 500 Days of Blogging #2 – 500 Minutes Out
Marc Webb has posted his second installment of his guest blogging at FirstShowing.
In this installment he posts a video (below) and this explanation:
Keen observers of the photos from the 500 Days Of Summer LA (it’s-early-I-know-but-Joe-and-Zooey-are-both-doing-movies-so-we-had-to-do-it-three-weeks-before-the-movie-actually-comes-out) premiere might notice that Mathew Gray Gubler had a knee brace and crutches while walking on the red carpet. To make a long story short – it’s my fault. The other night the guys from 500 Days of Summer (Joe, Me, Mathew and Geoffrey) went back to downtown LA on a sort of pub crawl, dance party, reminiscing event. And, like most successful drinking nights, ended up in the hospital! For more details click the video below!
