This is unbelievably good, possibly NSFW.

Zooey Deschanel and Joesph Gordon-Levitt retrace a scene from their film (500) Days of Summer by paying homage to punk rock icons, Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen in “Sid and Nancy”. Written and directed by Marc Webb.

There’s another joke in there you wouldn’t be able to get unless you’ve seen the film.

So, who can name that song playing in the background?

Split-Screen Behind the Scenes Video from EW.com

Here’s how Zooey Deschanel sets up a behind the scenes look at one of Joesph Gordon-Levitt’s scenes in 500 Days of Summer:

“Who doesn’t love Hall & Oates?” says Zooey. “Well, I’m sure there are some people who don’t. But there’s something so undeniable about the scene and the way ‘You Make My Dreams’ plays into it. Joe’s a great dancer.

“We actually did a sort of promo dance sequence last week,” she continues, “that will be on the internet. I can’t tell you any more. You’ll see! That was actually to one of my songs. I had suggested an early Marvin Gaye track, but it’s difficult with rights sometimes. Marc was listening to She & Him and was like, ‘Hey can we use one of your songs?’ We gave him a good deal.”

Note: This is spoilerish. You can always come back after you’ve seen the film.

New Clip: 500 Days of Summer Bar Scene

Here’s a new, exclusive clip from 500 Days of Summer that is sure to play wherever you are. The new clip is from a scene in a bar “in which Deschanel explains that she’s not interested in having a boyfriend, to the disappointment of Gordon-Levitt and the befuddlement of Geoffrey Arend”.

CocoGordonMoore points out the “elevator version” of She’s Like the Wind by Patrick Swayze playing in the background!

Update: Unfortunately this clip has been pulled!

The film doesn’t open until July 17, but we’ve nabbed an exclusive clip of Joseph bee-bopping to Hall and Oates’ classic ’80s tune “You Make My Dreams Come True.” Press play above and read what Joseph had to say about romantic comedies and heartbreak after the jump.

Fans outside of the United States, me included, are out of luck for watching this clip. If you’re able to watch it, tell us all about it in the comments below!
