European premiere of 500 Days of Summer

500 Days of Summer will be the opening film at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The festival begins August 5th with 500 Days screening on the Piazza Grande and ends a week and a half later on August 15th.

Looks like the European release rate for 500 Days of Summer will be sometime this fall.

“500 Days” Among 2009 Golden Trailer Winners

The winners of the 10th Annual Golden Trailer Awards, which honor the best movie previews of the past year, were announced last night at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.

Congratulations to 500 Days of Summer (Mark Woollen & Associates, Fox Searchlight) for their Golden Trailer win in the best Best Romance category. I don’t know if I agree with the category placement but the trailer certainly deserves the recognition. Watch the first two 500 Days of Summer trailers.

Admittedly there is some strong competition for EW.com’s Must on-screen couple of the summer but to me, the choice is clear. Currently Sandra Bullock & Ryan Reynolds in “The Proposal” are pulling out ahead…
