Must Watch: 500 Days of Summer “Bank Heist” Music Video
Quite honestly the best video ever– the best, best, best, best, BEST. What a team. Hard to describe Zooey Deschanel as anything but incredible but to choose between her and Joe Gordon-Levitt? Impossible. Marc Webb makes me want to direct and a very catchy tune by She & Him. Makes me a very happy guy.

500 Days of Summer (Music from the Motion Picture) climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Soundtrack chart and No. 6 on the iTunes album overall chart thanks to its quirky mix of “just-under-the-radar” bands like the Temper Trap and the Doves, alongside nostalgic powerhouses like the Smiths and Simon & Garfunkel, as Billboard magazine described it. Other critics have weighed in with the New York Observer calling it “an infectious nostalgia-baiting soundtrack with the Smiths, Belle and Sebastian, and Regina Spektor, Elle calling it “irresistible,” and People dubbing it their soundtrack of the week.
July 27th, 2009Weekend #2: 500 Days of Summer at the Box Office
It’s doing well! I can only imagine 500 Days of Summer doing even better at the box office as more and more cities open. A lot of people are dying to have the film open closer to them.
“Summer” – a romantic comedy starring Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt – went from 27 to 85 screens and grossed $1,630,000, a 95% increase from last weekend. Its per-theater-average dropped a mild 33% to a still-fantastic $19,176. That’s the best second weekend of any specialty release this year, and suggests a very bright future as the film expands in the coming weeks. After just ten days in limited release, the Fox Searchlight release’s total stands at $3,004,000. — indieWIRE
Check the 500 Days of Summer release dates but keep in mind the list generally only shows major cities. Check your local listings to see if a theatre closer to you is playing the film, even if it’s not on the list!
