500 Days of Summer Soundtrack Tracklisting
Update (April, 09): It has been confirmed that this purportedly official tracklisting was, in fact, only a rumor. We now have details on the official album: View the 500 Days of Summer Soundtrack with details and artwork.
This post is an update to our last post with songs from 500 Days of Summer. This appears to be a more concrete listing of what songs are actually going to be on the 500 Days of Summer Official Soundtrack. Stereogum didn’t provide any details of where they got this information but they are a pretty good source of information and the track listing would definitely make good sense. Whatever the final listing is like, this is a sweet soundtrack.
I’m a little unsure of these “karaoke selections” listed under the main tracks below. There are definitely some karaoke bar scenes in 500 Days of Summer, but is the soundtrack going to have karaoke tracks?

Don’t Joseph and Zooey sing in the film?
Kirri on May 22, 2009
I know Joe pulls off some pretty amazing karaoke singing. Not sure about Zooey’s character.

Great great movie.

Fantastic film. Brilliant soundtrack
xx
Honesty on Jul 18, 2009
Was lucky enough to get to see this and the soundtrack was a character all by itself. Brilliantly chosen tracks!
Both Zooey and Joseph sing and they both do a spot on job. Zooey actually has or had her own band called She & Him. Had a folky/country/lounge sound to it. Different but a great listen.

This film is quite spectacular! It’s just amazing. I saw it at a festival and loved it, along with Breaking Upwards. If you haven’t saw it either, you should!
The soundtrack weaves itself into the movie beautifully. It’s a win :)
oh.. & duuuuh. Everyone likes the Smiths!!
:D

I think the first Karaoke song (which is the last in the movie) is Train in Vain by the Clash and not Poison, but my ears might’ve been mistaken.
shadow on Jul 27, 2009
actuallly the last band listed is not Rumm-Rah…
it’s Rumm-Ra
in case you look for it and can’t find it. =)
Beautiful film. I adore the characters and love how the songs mesh so well with the characters. It seems more believable that way.

Phenomenal movie. All too often something beautiful comes along in your life and so quickly it becomes evident that they were just put there to teach you something about yourself you would have never learned without them.
I was truly moved and the music was just amazing.

I want to know what that first track was!! I went through the soundtrack list and i don’t think it was on it. I’m sure it was in the UK charts about two years ago, any ideas??

Wonderful song….
Doina on Nov 3, 2009
Train in Vain AND Every Rose Has … are both heard in the Karaoke bar. (how’d i miss ‘boys don’t cry’??
Dan on Nov 10, 2009
I STILL NEED THE ORIGINAL SCORE!
i guess it was composed by michael danna…in the soundtrack we find, there’s only one song by him, and it is the opening scene…it’s called “A Story Of Boy Meets Girl”
i want all the other songs!
like when he is in the office drawing, in the train trying to find a seat, when he is coming back from the wedding, etc.
it would be too bad if they didn’t come up with any original score album for the movie.
amir on Nov 12, 2009
where are the pixies with “here comes your man”?? loved it when joseph sang this song drunken in the karaoke-bar!
marie on Nov 12, 2009
0.00 am. in the morning, I’ve just watched this great film and still keep thinking of it. What a … !
Apart from the content, I have to say that I was really impressed by the director’s skills in creating really innovative “tricks” to make this more colorful, like “the back and forth clock”, “the imaginative pictures shaded from brightness to darkness”, etc. and many more tiny things that made me amazed.
Last, I am going to get the whole soundtrack album, it’ll definitely be one of my favorites! It’s quite a long time since I listened to a whole album but a single.
Hence for a good night!

Hi, great compilation here and thanks for taking the time to share your information.
Great movie, can’t stop thinking about it. Makes me wonder why really nice guys just can’t seem to pin a girl down. Even inspired me to write a book.
I wonder, I’ve been searching for the theme instrumental song that sounds like an Eric Satie compisition, do you know what name it is?

My favorite song from the movies soundtrack is the one sang by Pixies – Here Comes Your Man. Like the remake done by Meaghan Smith too.
However this song is not listed here. Wasn’t it part of the official soundtrack?
