So I can drive to Birmingham, New Orleans, Baton Rogue, or Memphis, all of which are 2+ hours away… No love for Mississippi!
I would love to see this in Jackson, I’m definitely not the only person who would see it. I can’t guarantee numbers like you would see in a big city, but there’d be at least me… There aren’t any good movie theaters in Jackson, but there’s the Malco Grandview in Madison, MS that sometimes gets indie films a million months later than everyone else.
That theater even has posters up for the movie!! I guess it’s not guaranteed that if you guys send them a one-sheet for it, we’re going to get it. It’s probably not your fault, but it’s not really fair teasing the people who have been anticipating the movie like that :\

THIS RELEASE SCHEDULE IS RIDICULOUS!!! You have put a lot of buzz out there for the movie and it could be the sleeper hit of the summer but not if you’re going to string the release dates out for MONTHS! I was assuming that it would be in limited the first couple of wks then wide but this is just BS!!!

Show in Savannah, Ga please! I’ve been so excited to see this film since I first heard a while ago but sad to hear it’s in such limited theaters. It should release nation wide. I think it the depth and story to handle a full release not to mention Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zoe Deschanel are well known enough and are amazing actors.

What kind of distribution deal did this movie get? Given its stars and good reviews, not to mention the success of other recent “emo” rom-coms, why is it playing in so few theaters? Here in Austin it is playing at only two theaters. While two theaters my sound fine to some, those two theaters are the worst theaters in town. They are both art House and one of them features beer and food service all through the movie and the other one has uncomfortable seating and a difficult location . Also, the one with food service (Alamo Draft house) has at least three locations, but is only showing the movie at one of them.
So what gives? Is there going to be wider distribution at some point, or will this be another great movie nobody will see?
PS. I mean, come on! Austin Tex. is like famous for being the target demographic for this kinda thing………

Northern Illinois area please!!! Driving into downtown Chicago (nearly 90 miles away) is just too far to go to see a movie.
I live in Rockford, but will drive within an hour or so to see it! The Carmike in DeKalb sometimes get limited release movies – I’d drive there (45 minutes away) or even the AMC 30 off i-88 is within reason.
Please bring it to the northern Illinois area somewhere other than Chicago!

I really, really wanted to see this movie and was VERY disappointed on the 17th when the movie wasn’t playing in a theater near me… its looks like a great movie and I want to see it. It was supposed to come out in Atlanta yesterday..but its not playing at the Mall of Georgia and that’s basically where I see movies. I looked and the closest one playing it is 50 minutes away. I only live about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta and I just think this movie should be released in theaters EVERYWHERE. please and thank-you.

You MUST bring “(500) Days of Summer” to The Harbor Theater in Muskegon Michigan! This is the BEST indie theater in all of Michigan. They have a great audience base, they hold film festivals, they even brought the great Lloyd Kaufman into town for the Michigan premiere of “Poultrygeist” to a packed house! This would be a GREAT venue for “(500) Days of Summer”!

It’s only at one theater in NJ so I’m giving it one more week to make it somewhere closer to me (I’m in NJ but far from that theater) before I make the haul to NYC to see it there. Not going to wait any longer then that :)

Based on the reviews — this should have been released everywhere and they are missing a financial opportunity. We wanted to see a decent movie tonight and have no good choices in the Romantic movie arena. So our money is going to another film because we have a chance to actually go out. North Carolina???? Specifically GREENVILLE, NC??? Greenville has a population of almost 80,000 plus an almost 20,000 student population attending East Carolina University and Pitt Community Colleg. Our major medical center serves most of eastern Carolina. And we can’t get this movie here?

why the hell isn’t it completely released yet??? i live in valparaiso, indiana, and the closest showing is in CHICAGO. in case you didn’t know, valpo is a college town, and i know loads of people who want to see it badly. for the love of god, just do a complete release already. it’s not even playing in bloomington, in, for weeks, if ever. fox searchlights, this is BULLSHIT.
this movie was supposed to be a way for my friends and me to end the summer before going back to our schools, and now we can’t even do this. just release the damn movie everywhere!!!

Why is there no date up there for Charlotte NC! The only place you have listed (even though not until the 7th) is Raleigh and that is a three hour drive!

Finally!!! It’s come to Ft. lauderdale it was supposed to be July 31. By the way.. Sunrise is not Ft Lauderdale. So I guess it finally opened here on Aug 7th. Certainly doesn’t seem like a wide release, but it is finally here and I’ll see it tonight..

500 Days is only playing on 817 screens and is still in the top 10. G.I. Joe is playing on over 4000! This is so sad. I’d love to see it, but I’m not driving an hour to Toronto (especially when there are 6 movie theaters within 15km of me). When is the DVD/Blu-ray relase date?

Hamilton, Ontario! I’ve been dying to see this movie, and it’s honestly the first time I can remember wanting to see something that was never released around here. I know so many people who would love to see this, but Toronto is just too far for a movie. Won’t people have lost interest between now and the DVD/Blu-Ray release? All I know is that I’ve spent months anxiously awaiting this movie only to find out it is virtually impossible for me to see it.
