500 Days of Summer LA Landmarks Map
Use the map below to virtually visit some landmarks from scenes in the film. Or use the map to plan your trip and visit them in real life!
View 500 Days of Summer LA Landmarks in a larger map and try using Google Street View to check out some scenes from 500 Days of Summer.
Folks looking for Tom’s bench will find it on the map. Michael T., who sent these landmarks from a map he received after a screening, recreated an image from the film at Tom’s favorite spot.
The plain text list submitted by Michael is posted after the jump.
1. Redwood Bar – 316 west 2nd street (karaoke scene)
2. Kenneth Hahn Mall – Temple between Hill and Grand (morning after/best day ever)
3. Old Bank DVD – 400 S. Main Street (Ringo Starr LP scene / adult video section)
4. Fine Arts Building – 811 w 7th street (Tom shows the architecture of Downtown buildings to Summer)
5. Broadway Bar – 830 S. Broadway (scene with the douche bag / Tom defends Summer)
6. Grand Central Market – 317 S. Broadway (I personally do not recall the scene, but it is included on the map)
7. Angel’s Knoll – w 4th st and olive st (Tom’s fav place)
8. Bradbury Building – 304 S. Broadway (Tom and Autumn)

I’m almost positive that the “douchebag scene” was shot at The Edison, and not Broadway Bar.
Brandon on Jul 26, 2009
I don’t think they used the Edison at all, actually, it has such distinctive lighting. The ceiling is too low in the scene in the movie for it to be the Edison. :)
To answer the questions on the map, yes, the Civic Center Mall (not called Kenneth Hahn Mall ;)) is where the dancing scene is and yes, Redwood is where the karaoke is.

Thanks Crystal! I’ve updated the map :)

This is great. Yeah I don’t remember Grand Central Market making an appearance in the film either. Where is the coffee shop the guys hang out at?
Jim on Jul 27, 2009
You’re welcome :) I second the coffee shop/boys hangout question – that’s been bugging me! I’m also trying to figure out where they are eating pancakes in The. Scene. At first I thought OP, but that’s not it…
Crystal on Jul 27, 2009
Where is the fountain? I’ve never seen a fountain like that and it threw me off from realizing this was shot in LA.

maybe the Grand Central Market scene is a deleted scene. It was probably printed on the map before the final cut.
Michael T. on Jul 27, 2009
Was the market the street they walk down with all the luggage on sale?

Shell – it’s just east of Grand Avenue at the music center, it’s just below street level in the sunken Civic Center Mall, so you have to go down to really see it . If you’re on Grand looking at the Music Center your back to is to the fountain. :)

don’t forget about the wedding scene – which looked like it was shot at the Point Fermin Lighthouse in San Pedro
Harry Medved on Jul 29, 2009
Harry, you’re right, it was shot there. I recognized it as soon as I saw it.

Sadly the biys coffee bar hangout scene was just a set, not a functioning location, the coffee shop (pancakes) is also a set and has been used in many other films.

I can’t believe the entire movie takes place within a one mile radius of my school. Angel’s Knoll is down the street and the music center is across the street. The movie makes Downtown look so much nicer than in person.
