Joseph Gordon Levitt since 500 Days of Summer
Joseph Gordon Levitt’s Recent and Upcoming Projects…
Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s new film 50/50 is the latest entry to earn him critical praise for an outstanding performance in the actor’s already extensive career. Fans are filling theaters, visiting rental stores and enjoying Gordon-Levitt’s movies from the comfort of their homes too, through streaming sites like Netflix and DirecTV. It seems this JGL is just about everywhere these days!
People took notice of Gordon-Levitt in 2009 when he starred in 500 Days of Summer opposite the talented and beautiful Zooey Deschanel. The bittersweet story of love that is never really found showed Joseph had a knack for bringing life to characters and pulling the viewer into a film.
He followed up 500 Days with another offbeat film, Uncertainty. It explored the outcome of a decision from both sides to illustrate how one decision could change lives. Before the year was out, he had also had parts in Women in Trouble and a creepy, villainous role in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
The next year he would show no sign of slowing down, starting out the year with Hesher in which he starred as a tattooed loner who finds redemption in his relationship with a child who has lost his mother. He followed this up by reprising his role from Women in Trouble for the sequel, Elektra Luxx.
Gordon-Levitt rounded out 2010 with one of his most impressive performances in the blockbuster Inception. In this mind-blowing film filled with twisted reality and engineered dreams, Joseph stands out in an impressive cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy and Ellen Page.
That brings us to the current year when Gordon-Levitt has taken a bit of a breather with only 50/50 being released. But do not think this young man is losing momentum. A look ahead shows a new year filled with feature films to satisfy the hungry fans.
He will start the year off portraying a bike messenger who picks up a troublesome package in the action thriller Premium Rush. That will be followed by another sci-fi action film, Looper. This one is getting attention from the same fans who made Inception such a huge hit from the big screens of the theaters to homes of www.direct.tv subscribers.
But probably the most anticipated film on Gordon-Levitt’s agenda is the next Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. The actor will portray a cop assigned to help track down the Batman in what is said to be director Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film. It is Gordon-Levitt’s second time working with Nolan who also directed Inception.
Indeed, the future is looking very bright for this talented young actor. Certainly his fans will have plenty to choose from in the months and years to come! :)
