Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel Comic

Jamie from What A Kerfuffle!, an art blog, drew this fantastic comic rendering of Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The original photo is from the Fox Searchlight website for the film. Great job, Jamie.

Make sure to view the comic in full-size to really enjoy it.

The inspiration for the 500 Days of Summer teaser trailer

If you haven’t watched the (500) Days of Summer teaser trailer, what are you doing here? Click that link to watch it now.

Fox Searchlight has linked to the trailer Jean Luc-Goddard’s 1963 classic LE MÉPRIS, (or “CONTEMPT” in English,) and has said that it was the inspiration for the 500 Days of Summer teaser trailer. I wonder who put together the teaser and who was first inspired by CONTEMPT.

There are definitely a lot of key similarities in both trailers. Check out the trailer for CONTEMPT below.

The narration in the trailer for CONTEMPT is a little eerie at times and I suppose the narration for the 500 Days teaser is quite unique as well. I wonder how the 500 Days teaser would sound with Zooey Deschanel and Joe Gordon-Levitt doing the narration.

What kind of similarities do you see?
